If your iPhone no longer displays notifications after the update with its 18 edition, you are one of those several users. Increasing numbers of users have encountered similar problems since the latest upgrades from Apple. People use notifications to be informed, and it is painful when one misses a particular notification. Below is a list of 10 simple things any user can try and fix this problem to get the notifications back working.
1. Check Notification Settings
Navigate to Settings > Notifications to find out that the names of all the above-mentioned applications are selected, with the Allow Notifications icon switched on. Make sure all the alerts, lock screens, notification centres, and banners are turned on.
2. Turn off Focus Mode.
It may be because Focus Mode has muted all your notifications. Pull down the Control Centre and see if Focus is enabled. If it is, switch it off or go to Settings, then Focus, where you can adjust the setting.
3. Restart Your iPhone
It can also be solved by a simple restart if the problem is temporary. Press the Power key, slide the Power off bar, and switch on the phone again.
4. Update Your Apps
This means the latest version of some apps may not run correctly on the iOS 18 platform until an update has been conducted. Download the app store, tap on profile, and update all the pending applications.
5. Enable Background App Refresh
Check that the background activity for the apps is turned on by going to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. This is to enable the apps to update, gather real-time data as well as send notifications.
6. Check Internet Connection
Notifications may not come through when there is a weak or unstable internet connection. Make sure your internet connection is good and that your Wi-Fi or mobile data is okay.
7. Reset Network Settings
If so, touch the Settings icon at the top right of the screen, then select the General option, and under Reset, select Reset Network Settings. This will not delete your data, but it will reset the wireless and cellular connection settings.
8. Read associated app notification settings.
Many apps, like WhatsApp or Gmail, have individual notification options as well. Launch the app and check whether the notifications are allowed.
9. Update to the Latest iOS Version
Various known bugs are fixed by Apple through patches. Settings > General > Software Update to confirm iOS 18 in this case is the latest update.
